Access Control Systems

Control who has access to your building.

Access Control Systems

Simply access control systems enable you to control who has access to your building.

Locks and keys also allow you to secure your building, but when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys can be considerable. Keys may also be copied, creating even more security risks.

All businesses, whether small, medium or large, have assets that need to be protected from theft. There is also the issue of protecting staff and their property. It is common in buildings that are secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage.

Electronic access control provides the most efficient and convenient way of securing your building and assets. Installing an access control system means that you will never have to change a lock again. Tokens are issued to allow access through the controlled doors, and are easily barred from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves your company. Barred tokens will not allow access through the controlled doors.

Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without a PIN or access token is unable to enter. If necessary, doors may be set to unlock during a designated time frame.

Access control can also offer flexible control over users’ access rights. For example, all staff can gain access through the main door of a building, but access to internal areas may be restricted to those who have a specific need to be there. Access may also be restricted by time, only granting access to particular users at certain times of day or night.

Access control offers a secure, convenient, flexible and cost effective way of controlling who has access to your building and when that access is allowed. Access control gives organisations the security they need.

Our door entry system, Net2 Entry, is an advanced one cable door entry system with built-in access control capabilities.

Standalone Access Control

Our standalone access control is a non-networked system made up of readers or simple door controllers located at each door. Standalone systems are administered via the use of tokens or card packs.

We have two types of Standalone system, Compact and Switch 2.

Paxton – Net 2 Access Control Range

Net2 is an advanced PC based access control solution. Net2 offers centralised administration and control of sites from one to hundreds of doors and with up to 50,000 users. Perfectly tailor access privileges to groups or individuals quickly and easily using our intuitive, user-friendly software. Event reports can be generated in a few clicks and the single-door architecture makes specifying, installing and maintaining the system easy. Advanced features such as site graphics, IP camera integration and ‘Triggers and Actions’ further extend the capabilities of this cutting-edge system.

Paxton – Compact Range

An ideal standalone access solution for internal (low security) doors. A compact system comprises an integrated reader and control unit, which are quick and easy to install: simply connect to a power supply and a lock. Simple token management using our card packs makes administration of the system very easy. Compact systems are available in proximity, magstripe and keypad variants, and are ideal for smaller sites.

Paxton – Switch 2 Range

Switch2 is a standalone product suitable for external use in applications requiring high levels of security. Comprising a separate control unit and reader (the control unit is installed in a safe area to avoid tampering), Switch2 systems are a scalable, easy-to-manage access solution ideal for small to medium sites. THIS IS ABLOY® PROTEC2 CLIQ

In today’s dynamic business environment, high security procedures are vital while greater flexibility and scalability are required. Therefore, the system should be simple and easy to use. In most cases it is not practical to have a separate electronic system for access control and a mechanical one for physical security – especially when you need to control life cycle costs of your systems.

ABLOY PROTEC2, which is based on the patented rotating disc cylinder mechanism, takes care of the mechanical security at your site, while electronic CLIQ technology allows flexible control of keys, access rights and audit trails. PROTEC2 CLIQ combines both technologies into one effective solution.
